KINGSTON, Jamaica – Digicel today announced that it has signed an agreement to get TRES Networks in Curacao, pending Government acceptance, for an undisclosed amount.
TRES Networks is an international and fixed long distance telecommunications operator and provider of amusement services and digital television.
It provides business and residential customers with high speed Internet, voice and digital services over the island’s first and only 100 per cent fibre optic network.
Digicel said it’ll work with the present management team to bring enhanced services.
“TRES is pleased to have come to an arrangement with Digicel Curacao – a firm with a powerful brand – that will not only bring a higher level of expertise to the businesses of TRES, but may also bring significant market power which will empower TRES to rapidly expand its network reach on the isle, improve its services and most importantly, reach its significant potential,” Frank de Frémery, CEO of TRES Networks was quoted as saying.
Digicel Group, a 14-year old firm, is a communications and entertainment supplier with operations in 32 markets in Asia Pacific, Central America and the Caribbean.
